It is disturbing to think that there seems nobody really taking the responsibility of the United States. Hope you can correct me, because that is a big problem, not only to American people, but to the whole world as well.
The government is obviously not responsible for the country, no matter the elected government, or the so called “deep state.”
The elected government is only responsible for its voters, who are at most one third of the population. If half of the eligible voters cast their ballots for the party which wins the election, there’s still two thirds of the population left, most of whom are against the party won.
The deep state is not either. Do you think any key position can be spared from being a target of lobby by interests groups?
If the government can not represent the real interests of the country as a whole, then how about the elites? Such as the business circle and the intellectuals?
Unfortunately, those “successful” business people, such as those who fly to Davos every year to attend the World Economic Forum, established a globally based business interests. Do they care about the United States? Of course. But will they put the interests of the country above their global business interests? Eh...
And intellectuals are so divided and lack of consensus on the national policies. It is sad that the people, or say the society, is as divided as the intellectuals. People are watching different TV channels (CNN or Fox News), going to different websites (Dems or GOP),sharing feelings in different social media (Facebook, Twitter, TikTok or True Social) ...
I guess no one knows where the U.S. is going. But we know where our planet is going if we do nothing to reverse the climate changing direction. It’s a pity that as a leading country, the U.S. cannot has a strong leadership in fighting against climate crisis.
SO, EVERYBODY OF US HAS TO TRY OUR OWN BEST.
We try are own best, but must remember we are not on our own in doing so.
