China’s Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting on Dec. 9 to analyze and study the economic work in 2025 and to study and deploy the work of combating corruption.
It is a very important moment for China’s green transformation now. So, this is a very important meeting.
According to the released information, the meeting decided to implement more proactive fiscal policies and moderately loose monetary policies, enrich and improve the policy toolbox, strengthen extraordinary counter-cyclical adjustments, and play a good policy "combination punch" to improve the forward-looking, targeted, and effective macro-control.
According to the meeting, China will vigorously boost consumption, improve investment efficiency, and expand domestic demand in all directions.
Technological innovation is still the key to new quality productivity and building a modern industrial system.
The meeting also promised to expand high-level opening up to the outside world, and stabilize foreign trade and foreign investment.
China will also consolidate and expand the results of poverty alleviation, coordinate the promotion of new urbanization and comprehensive rural revitalization, and promote urban-rural integrated development.
China will coordinate the promotion of carbon reduction, pollution reduction and green growth, and accelerate the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. (This is the words I expected.)
The meeting also vowed to maintain tough hands in combating corruption, and unswervingly advance the anti-corruption campaign.
Just share with you this important development.
China's highly exposed to the impacts of global warming. Why would it push consumption rather than resilience/preparedness? Infrastructure getting smashed time and again, rivers of cars and topsoil washing thro' cities, heat deaths, harvest impacts, floods and pollution - something doesn't add up.
